Who, What, Where, Why?

Greetings!

My name is Ellen Connally. I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a double major in Theatre Arts and French. Being the go-getter I am, I decided I wanted-- nay, needed-- to combine these two passions of mine. My university offers a program through which I may exchange earning a Bachelor of Arts degree for a Bachelor of Philosophy degree by means of creating and executing an undergraduate thesis project. This blog is a component of an Independent Study to kick-start the long road before me in achieving my BPhil degree in Theatre Arts and French.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Lisa Jackson-Schebetta, professor of Theatre Arts, I will be pursuing the objective of gaining further knowledge into where my two areas of interest intersect; specifically, where theatre activism and education meet French language and culture. I hope to find at this magical junction an opening to internships, study abroad options, and career opportunities in this specific and intriguing field.

For now, this blog is for Lisa and my use, though it may develop more as I continue this project. We shall see what the future holds.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me at e.m.connally@gmail.com

A bientôt,
Ellen
